Catur was born in Java, Indonesia were his childhood was spent in thick Sumatran jungle before relocating to Bali at the age of 18, to pursue an independent life of his own using music as his muse. Catur later migrated to Wollongong, NSW.
In 2012, Catur experienced sudden illness, that was later diagnosed as a rare terminal cancer and receiving treatment, continues to inspire and strengthen communities by sharing his journey & joy for life & love of world music..
